New Delhi | May 2026: AI-powered engineering talent platform Cognavi has successfully placed 13 Indian engineering students in international roles, achieving an impressive average annual package of ₹42.15 lakh. The milestone underscores the increasing role of artificial intelligence in transforming global engineering recruitment.
According to Cognavi, the highest salary package reached ₹56.27 lakh for a Data Scientist (Data Engineering) position, while two IIT students secured pre-placement offers worth ₹46.78 lakh in technical and product development roles.
These placements were powered by Cognavi’s proprietary AI-based “Skill Tree” technology, designed to map students’ technical capabilities directly to employer requirements. By prioritizing real-world skills over conventional résumé screening, the platform streamlines talent identification for global recruiters.
The selected candidates have been hired for specialized positions across data science, system engineering, electrical development, application engineering, product development, and design engineering.
Of the 13 students placed, 11 came from engineering institutions ranked within India’s top 100 under the NIRF framework, while the remaining two were from IITs. Although the company did not disclose recruiter names due to confidentiality agreements, it confirmed that placements were made with global organizations in technology, electronics, and manufacturing sectors.
Industry observers note that AI-led hiring models are rapidly gaining momentum among multinational companies seeking highly specialized engineering talent from India, especially in domains such as advanced electronics, systems engineering, and data development.
“The biggest inefficiency in global hiring today is not the lack of talent—it’s the inability to identify it correctly. Traditional recruitment filters out capability before it even gets seen. AI flips that equation. We’re not just improving hiring—we’re questioning the very logic it has operated on for decades,” said Mohit Sareen, Board Director at Cognavi India Limited, who leads the company’s strategy and business operations.
Cognavi emphasized that unlike conventional campus recruitment, which often prioritizes degrees and academic scores, AI-driven skill mapping enables employers to assess candidates based on actual technical proficiency.
Built to connect engineering talent with global employers, Cognavi currently partners with IITs and over 300 leading engineering colleges across India. Its focus on mechanical, electrical, electronics, and emerging industrial technologies has helped create a structured talent pipeline beyond traditional IT recruitment.
Backed by over 44 years of legacy through its parent organization’s expertise in engineering talent solutions, Cognavi is positioning itself as a key player in reshaping how Indian engineering talent is identified, evaluated, and deployed worldwide.
As global demand for specialized engineers continues to rise, AI-based recruitment platforms like Cognavi are expected to play a defining role in the future of international hiring from India.
