Bhubaneswar, January, 2026: GAIL India Limited, a state-owned energy major, has expanded access to clean fuel in Bhubaneswar by commissioning Domestic Piped Natural Gas (DPNG) connections at two major residential societies under the National PNG Drive 2.0. The initiative strengthens the ongoing push toward a cleaner, safer, and more efficient gas-based economy in the city.
The first commissioning was carried out at Cosmopolis Residential Society in the Khandagiri area, covering 835 flats. The inauguration was held in the presence of GAIL officials and Member of Parliament Aparajita Sarangi, who highlighted the key benefits of PNG, including enhanced safety, greater convenience, uninterrupted fuel supply, and cost efficiency for households.
Subsequently, DPNG connections were activated at Shreekhetra Residency Society in Aiginia, serving 144 flats. On the occasion, the MP shared her own positive experience as a PNG user and encouraged wider adoption of the clean fuel among households.
Residents of both societies welcomed the initiative, stating that PNG eliminates the inconvenience of LPG cylinder refills and supports Bhubaneswar’s growing clean energy ecosystem. The symbolic ignition of gas supply at the societies marked an important milestone in advancing reliable and sustainable energy solutions across the city.
